I'm an Australian living in France. Music started filling my head at a very early age, and I began to be interested in playing instruments at around 8 years of age, in 1974. Finally, in 1977 I became "seriously" involved with the guitar and harmonica, thanks to Gareth and Norman, two guys a year above me at school who played those instruments in a duo. From the beginning I always tried to play the two instruments together. I discovered blues on the harp in 1980 with The Midnight Special by Sonny Terry and Brownie Mc Ghee, and was soon playing in a band. The area I grew up in (60 - 100 km south of Sydney) had a whole bunch of people who played, and I loved to visit my friends, drink coffee, swap stories and jam. I also played some flute and sax and became sideman to several musicians who did one man shows. Parties were always musical events (and vice-versa), and to this day I still feel that playing is a kind of a celebration.
